The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He reviews and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. These multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those who want to remove mopping from their list of things to do. Some models have superior mapping capabilities and obstacles avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model to select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other models which makes it more maneuverable in tight corners or under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of the best navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.
It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one pass. Its suction motor of 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the dual side brushes help to tease out debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as effective. The mop rotates at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful in narrow corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to scoop up larger pieces of debris, like books and broken toys.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to install, and it works well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum for mopping purposes, you will need to pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase an efficient, flexible and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device has an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and locate furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and effectively. This will ensure an even and thorough clean, while also being relatively quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach an array of surfaces. They can reach corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach spots. They also have a flexible side brush that can be extended to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the odors.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction intensity and choose either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also turn off the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and rug.
It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to keep in mind that the device will incur regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pads must be changed every one to three months.
auto vacuum has a high Amazon rating and includes many physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with a power button which doubles as a 'Clean button' as well as a 'Home' button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. It's a top-performing device, intelligent navigation, and long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home clean with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one mop and vacuum. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two components, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping module that has microfiber pads. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming might seem a bit outdated, but they do mean you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its most impressive feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which help to protect certain areas of your house from being cleaned with mop.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair from pets. It was able to capture some of the hair that our cats shed, and even made it into the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots have struggled. It was quiet and had some lovely jingles to signalled when it was about to start or completing its task.
Its biggest drawbacks were its simple app and the necessity to swap out the modules whenever switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't save multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want an intelligent robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock, which serves as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a clean sink and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.
The base comes with several control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in finding objects.
The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it is entangled in a blockage like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't function until you untangle it manually. While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert on its app.
The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad except for the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a huge difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for a market dominated by clunky boxy models.
